Historical monologue performed by Argos Tarragona. “Eclipse in Tarragona, a Total Experience” series. On 12 August, a total solar eclipse will take place, a phenomenon that has inspired admiration throughout history. The movement of celestial bodies, as well as the reckoning of time, has been studied for centuries, and the most important figure for us has been the Greek Sosigenes of Alexandria, whom Julius Caesar chose to reform the calendar. By portraying this character, we aim to explain how the cosmos and the monthly division of time were understood in the ancient world.
