About the event

Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation Hub, UOC Campus - Universitat Oberta de Catalunya · Building C
“#internetflags: weaving open knowledge” is a workshop for prototyping and collectively creating large-format flags with text messages. Using design thinking methods, we will connect the everyday experience of the mobile internet with access to knowledge.

Our current daily life is inseparable from the use of connected digital devices. The mobile internet allows us to access and generate open knowledge (repositories, collaborative and citizen science platforms, academic research in formats for general audiences...) But what formats and narratives can ensure an active and critical role for citizens? How can we prevent algorithmic logic and information overload from producing misinformation? What opportunities and challenges might digital ubiquity entail?

Coinciding with International Open Access Week, this free workshop offered to the public will be held at the UOC headquarters in Barcelona. The works created will subsequently be exhibited at different locations in the city’s public space.

Free admission with prior registration.
