Extreme Barcelona 2026

Every September, Parc del Fòrum turns into the largest urban sports festival Barcelona has to offer. Extreme Barcelona returns for its 18th edition from September 4 to 6, 2026, taking over the waterfront park in Sant Martí, on the Poble Nou side of the Diagonal Mar area. Entry is free, and the lineup covers eleven disciplines, from BMX Freestyle to breaking to 3×3 basketball.
What Happens at Extreme Barcelona
The festival is built around three zones, Central Park, Street Plaza, and Urban Stage, hosting competitions in skateboarding, BMX Freestyle, Scooter Street, Scooter Park, breaking, 3×3 basketball, street football, fitness, and surfskate. Over 500 athletes from more than 40 countries compete. 2026 is a milestone year because it marks the world debut of the UCI’s new Hors Class (HC) status for BMX Freestyle Park, so results here count toward LA28 Olympic qualifying points. The Spanish BMX Park Championship runs alongside it.
Between competitions, the park fills with open skateparks anyone can use, a market area, food trucks, concerts, DJ sets, and live urban art. The whole thing runs outdoors, so plan for whatever September weather Barcelona serves up.

Organised by Urban World Series, with Barcelona City Council as an institutional partner, Extreme Barcelona is aimed at anyone curious about action sports, not only the athletes’ families. Teenagers show up for the skate and scooter competitions. Casual visitors come for the free entertainment and the chance to watch Olympic-track BMX riders warm up for LA28. If you have never watched competitive breaking or 3×3 basketball, this is a low-stakes way to see both.
Getting There
Parc del Fòrum sits at Rambla Prim 2-4, on the waterfront in Sant Martí, next to Poble Nou. The closest stop is El Maresme | Fòrum on Line 4, the yellow line, about a 10-minute walk from the venue. The park also hosts Primavera Sound, so if you have been to that, you already know the layout: wide open space, easy to navigate, no crowding around a single stage.

General admission is free. No ticket, no registration, just show up. A paid VIP Experience is available if you want closer access, sold through Eventbrite and proticketing.com. Check those sites directly for current pricing in euros, since VIP tiers shift year to year. Extreme Barcelona is not listed on Fever.
Why Bother With an Urban Sports Festival in Barcelona
You do not need the Olympic tie-in to justify a visit, but it does not hurt. Watching a Hors Class BMX Freestyle final for the first time anywhere in the world, for free, on a Saturday afternoon, is reason enough to change your weekend plans. Skateboarding, breaking, and 3×3 basketball are also Olympic disciplines, so the level of competition is real rather than exhibition-grade.
