Circuit Festival Barcelona

Every August, Barcelona tips. The beaches fill a little earlier. The clubs stay open later. And for nine days at the start of the month, the city becomes the centre of the global LGBTQ+ circuit scene.
Circuit Festival — organised by Matinée Group since 2008 from its base in the Eixample — draws over 70,000 people from more than 100 countries to a city that already knows how to throw a party. This is not a single event at a single venue. It is a deliberate sprawl across six of Barcelona’s best clubs, a water park 30 kilometres up the coast, and a conference hall large enough to hold a small city.
What Is Circuit Festival?
Circuit is an annual multi-day LGBTQ+ circuit festival. The largest in the world. The format: a week of themed parties, each at a different venue, building toward the Main Event at Fira Barcelona Gran Vía on the final Saturday. In between, there is a daytime event at Illa Fantasia water park that is, genuinely, unlike anything else on the European summer calendar.
Matinée Group has run Circuit since 2008. The organisation is professional: advance tickets, clear programming, harm reduction at every event (free water, onsite medical staff). The festival is primarily aimed at gay and bisexual men, though welcoming to the wider LGBTQ+ community. Eighteen-plus, no exceptions.

Saturday 1 August — Big Opening

11PM–6AM. Advance €35, door €45.
Sunday 2 August — Guapo
Razzmatazz, C/ Almogàvers 122, Poblenou.

Monday 3 August — HIM
Input Club, Montjuïc.
11PM–5AM. Advance €25, door €35.
Tuesday 4 August — Water Park Day
Illa Fantasia, Finca Mas Brassó s/n, Vilassar de Dalt (30 km north of Barcelona — festival shuttle buses available).
10AM–10PM. Advance €50–65, door €80–90. Day+night pack: advance €100–120.
This is the event that separates Circuit from every other circuit festival in Europe. An entire water park taken over for a day. Pools, slides, 10,000-plus people. Buy the shuttle ticket with your entry — the site is not reachable by public transport.

This is what the week builds toward. Fira Gran Vía is an exhibition centre, cavernous and industrial, built for this kind of scale. The Main Event is one of the largest indoor LGBTQ+ events anywhere in the world.

Getting Around
Most venues are accessible by metro. Input Club and Fira Gran Vía are straightforward. SeaSea Club in Sant Adrià requires a taxi or ride-share. Illa Fantasia in Vilassar de Dalt is 30 minutes north by car — the festival’s shuttle buses are the practical option.
Barcelona’s metro runs until midnight on weekdays, 2AM on weekends. After that: Nitbus, taxi, or ride-share. Plan for it — the parties end at 6AM.
What to Know Before You Go
Buy early. The Main Event and Water Park Day sell out. If you plan to attend more than three nights, the All Access Pass is safer than buying individual tickets as parties go dark.
Pace yourself. Nine nights is long. Matinée Group provides free water and onsite medical staff at every event for a reason.
Book accommodation early. August is already Barcelona’s busiest month. Circuit week pushes demand further. The Eixample Esquerra neighbourhood, known locally as the Gayxample, puts you walking distance from Luz de Gas and a short taxi from most other venues.
Dress. No dress code is specified, but circuit party conventions apply. Athletic, festive, minimal. You will feel conspicuous in a suit.
