Argentine pianist and composer Emilio Solla (winner of a Latin Grammy and multiple Grammy nominee) and singer and saxophonist Antonio Lizana, undoubtedly the most innovative figure in current flamenco-jazz, come together at El Siempre Mar, sailing in search of new directions in the fusion of flamenco with Argentine music. In this kind of 2.0 round-trip song exchange, Lizana and Solla trade their cultural heritages based on tango, folk music and flamenco, filtered through jazz, a language that allows them to add the art of improvisation.
The repertoire includes compositions by Solla and Lizana together with classics by Astor Piazzolla and Atahualpa Yupanqui, and was recorded in 2023 on the album El Siempre Mar, which received a nomination for Best Jazz Album at the Premis de l’Acadèmia de la Música d’Espanya in 2024.
