About the event

Pianist Adolf Pla has been awarded the Robert Wagner Foundation Prize of Würzburg (Germany, 1992), the Caixa Sabadell Foundation Prize (Sabadell, 1996), and the “Mejor Producto Musical en España 2013” Prize by Revista Musical Codalario (Madrid, 2013) for recording Frederic Mompou’s complete works for piano and publishing the essay Frederic Mompou, El eterno recomenzar (La mà de guido, 2012).
In the concert Un viatge de la cançó popular a una mística pel segle XXI, he journeys through the works of Frederic Mompou. The impressionistic sonority of the enchantments of Charmes and the most inaccessible depths of the human soul in Música callada merge with the most popular Catalan sensibility of Ball de ciri, Dansa de Castellterçol, La filla del marxant, and other songs and dances from our country.
“It could be said that my music belongs to a completely different era, one that might come in the future.” Frederic Mompou, New York, 1970.
