PeDRaViVa MOLINS FESTIVAL

The PeDRaViVa-Molins Festival is a summer festival of classical and art music held in Olesa de Bonesvalls at the medieval Hospital dels Cervelló complex. The event combines live music, heritage and the natural environment, with repertoires ranging from medieval music to classical and contemporary music. The festival takes place at the former Hospital dels Cervelló, a 13th-century medieval complex that lends the concerts very special acoustics and atmosphere. The project places great emphasis on the connection between architectural heritage and music. The festival is directed by Anna Escala with the collaboration of Olesa de Bonesvalls Town Council. PROGRAMME Sunday, 2 August – 19:00 | Capella de Santa Maria Festival Presentation Opening event with Anna Escala and Roger Subirana, featuring electric flute and an art installation. Thursday, 6 August – 19:00 | Hospital dels Cervelló “Pinocchio, the Wooden Boy” Puppet and children’s music workshop commemorating the 200th anniversary of Carlo Collodi, with the collaboration of the Parish of Sant Joan Baptista. Friday, 7 August – 21:30 | Hospital dels Cervelló TICKET REQUIRED Trio L’Incantari – “The Past Is Now” Medieval music concert featuring voice, harp, citole, percussion, vihuela and viola da gamba. A repertoire of cantigas by Alfonso X the Wise, trecento dances and medieval song. Saturday, 8 August – 21:30 | Hospital dels Cervelló TICKET REQUIRED Prysma Quartet – “Trencadís” Classical music concert featuring flute, violin, viola and cello. A programme featuring works by Mozart, Pau Casals, Granados and Verdi. Sunday, 9 August – 19:00 | Hospital dels Cervelló Lecture and festival closing A talk on construction yesterday and today and the Gaudí Year in Olesa de Bonesvalls, with the participation of Ciments-Molins and the Grup de Recerca Olesa Rural. Musical closing with Bruna Escolà on romantic guitar.
